La Manufacture Bohin
Beaumesnil Castle
Located 15min away from Cernay, the village of Beaumesnil is rich in historical heritage. The castle is a magnificent example of 17th century architecture, surrounded by 4 ha of gardens "à la française", with a reflecting moat.
Take a detour to the vegetable garden: 1001 vegetables await you.
Beaumesnil is also the starting point for many hikes.
The Castle organizes many activities for children and themed visits all year long.
City of Bernay
Labeled "City of art and history", Bernay is located 25 minutes away from Cernay.
Those passionate about history will go from discovery to discovery: the 11th century abbey, the streets and alleys with half-timbered houses from the 15th and 16th centuries, the Hotel de la Gabelle, the churches, the gardens, the Museum of Fine Arts and its collections ...
In search of relaxation, you will stroll along the Charentonne and Cosnier rivers. From the hills, and their landscaped promenade, the whole city and the valley will unfold before your eyes. The numerous shops will allow you to stroll, bargain-hunt, and discover typical recipes of the region.
Harcourt Castle & Arboretum
35 minutes from Cernay, the domain of Harcourt is one of the best preserved medieval Norman fortresses.
Created in 1826, the arboretum is considered to be the oldest in France. It is made up of 2,000 trees of over 500 different species spread over 11 hectares.
The Domaine d'Harcourt organizes numerous public events and themed guided tours. You cannot miss the fortified castle, a masterpiece of medieval military architecture.
Chocolate Museum Cluizel
The family business Cluizel has been based in Damville for 70 years. It is one of the few cocoa processors in the world and one of the leaders in high-end chocolate.
Tasting workshops and pastry lessons are offered.
A chocolate museum opened in 2002: a true place of history and introduction to cocoa and chocolate.
"Small Manufactures" opened all over Paris and its region and one of the family members, heir to this knowledge has ceated chocolate based restaurants "Un Dimanche à Paris" located in the district of St Germain des Prés in Paris and since 2019 in Dubai.
Bohin Factory
Unusual and unique, 25 minutes from Cernay, meet the only French manufacturer of needles and pins, BOHIN France! Located by the riverside, visit a factory still in activity with ancestral know-how and 180 years old machines.
Nowdays, the production is sold in more than 35 countries and among the biggest fashion designers.
City of Verneuil sur Avre
Verneuil-sur-Avre is ranked among the 100 Most Beautiful Detours in France.
It can be proud of its half-timbered houses and 18th century mansions, which give it a certain cachet. Also, Verneuil has a very active concert hall: Le Silo. Flea markets and antiques lovers will be pleased with the several stores, including the large flea market in Bâlines , that await them.

Champ de Bataille Castle
Located near Le Neubourg, this castle is a true jewel of architecture, and gardens "à la française" entirely restored by Jacques Garcia. You will discover an admirable collection of paintings, sculptures, porcelain, silverware and furniture, many of which come from royal collections. The vast and sumptuous gardens, designed by Patrick Pottier, extend over more than 38 hectares.
Ideal visit during Heritage Days ("Journées du Patrimoine"- end of september): reduced rates and access to usually private rooms.
Animal Farm
"Chez Poly"
Near the pretty village of Caorches Saint Nicolas, 5 minutes from Bernay and 25 minutes from Cernay, come to discover a farm and set off with your little ones to meet more than 145 animals. Christelle Morel, the owner, welcomes you into her farm and shares her passion for animals with you. Throughout the guided tour, young and adults can discover, approach, see, touch, more than 145 animals and 70 different breeds: ponies, sheep, donkeys, goats, rabbits, birds, llamas, alpaca ... 2 hours of visit with two circuits.
